Code of Conduct for Participants

MellowJourneys is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and adults throughout all activities we offer.

We believe that it is important that all participants including children, parents and volunteers should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, all are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the activities with the lead instructor Lukas Max Widrig.

All MellowJourneys activities should offer a positive experience for participants, where they can learn new things in a safe and positive environment.

Courtesy, good manners and consideration for others, together with self-discipline and respect for authority, are encouraged at all times. We place great emphasis on praising children for politeness and kindness to others. All children are expected to make a full contribution to the club’s activity.

As a participant, you are expected to abide by the following code of conduct:

  • Be loyal and give their friends a second chance.
  • Be friendly and particularly welcoming to newcomers.
  • Be supportive and committed to other team members, offer comfort when required.
  • Keep yourself safe.
  • Report inappropriate behavior or risky situations for others to the lead instructor.
  • Play fairly and be trustworthy.
  • Respect instructors and accept decisions.
  • Do not cheat or be violent and aggressive.
  • Keep within the defined boundary of the activity/playing/coaching area.
  • Behave and listen to all instructions from the instructor.
  • Take care of equipment owned by others.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background or religious beliefs.
  • Wear a suitable kit in accordance with the planned activity and weather forecast.

Exclusion rule

Any minor transgressions and general misbehavior will be addressed by the lead instructor. More serious or persistent misbehaviour may result in disciplinary action and potentially dismissal from the activity.

Even though we will avoid it where possible, exclusion may occur should a child consistently disrupt activities or put other children or members of the public at harm despite having been warned. Parents / Guardians will be expected to collect their child early at their own expenses when asked to do so.
